Prime Medicine has a gene-editing technology that, theoretically, allows the creation of gene therapies that can treat different diseases in a single procedure.

 

At the heart of Prime Medicine's patented technology is an algorithm that looks for the correct location of the target DNA element and replaces it. Direct manipulation of genes is carried out using the well-established CRISPR-Cas technology.

 

The advantage of Prime Medicine technology is its high theoretical accuracy and hereditary transmission of changes, that is, after treatment, “bad” genes will no longer be passed on to offspring. In general, this means a complete solution to the problem of congenital diseases.

 

Prime Medicine's technology is innovative and has not yet been tested in humans. Currently, the company is working on 18 therapeutic programs. Reliable repeatable insertion of the right changes at the right place in the genome is to be achieved.
