Hinge Health utilizes software, including artificial intelligence (AI), to largely automate musculoskeletal (MSK) care, enhancing the member experience, improving health outcomes, and reducing costs for clients. The platform is designed to address a wide range of MSK conditions, including acute injuries, chronic pain, and post-surgical rehabilitation.

Members receive personalized and largely automated MSK care through AI-powered motion tracking technology and a proprietary electrical nerve stimulation wearable device. These tools are designed and monitored by an AI-supported care team consisting of licensed physical therapists, physicians, and board-certified health coaches. The platform aims to improve pain management and physical function while reducing the need for surgeries. Additionally, it promotes health equity by enabling members to participate in exercise therapy sessions remotely, integrating movement into their daily lives.

To facilitate automation in care, the platform integrates AI-enabled capabilities such as TrueMotion, an AI-powered motion tracking technology, Enso, a proprietary FDA-cleared wearable device, and an AI-supported care team. Based on 2024 data estimates, the platform has reduced the number of human care team hours required for traditional physical therapy by approximately 95%.
